HeyBio

Linktree is built for everyone. HeyBio is built for one job.

If you are looking for a Linktree alternative, the useful question is not which tool has more buttons. It is who the tool was designed around. Linktree is a general-purpose link-in-bio product used by musicians, restaurants, charities, football clubs and everyone in between. That breadth is a genuine strength. It also means nothing inside it was shaped around the specific problem of an adult creator moving traffic from Instagram or TikTok to a subscription platform.

HeyBio was built for that single journey. Your page sits at heybio.io/yourname. When a visitor taps a link inside the Instagram or TikTok in-app browser, HeyBio pushes that click out to the phone's real browser, where they are already signed in and autofill works. Your dashboard then tells you how many clicks were rescued that way.

Both are competent products. They are competent at different things, and the rest of this page is about which difference matters to you.

Who Linktree is genuinely better for

Linktree is the safer choice for most people on the internet, and it is worth being blunt about why.

It is the default. When someone sees a Linktree URL they recognise it and they click it. That recognition is worth something, particularly if your audience is broad or mainstream. HeyBio is new. Nobody has heard of the name yet, and you will be the one explaining it.

It is general-purpose in a way HeyBio is not. If your page has to carry a podcast feed, a shop, a music release, a newsletter signup and an event listing, Linktree's ecosystem of embeds and integrations goes far beyond anything HeyBio offers. HeyBio does links, photos, text and analytics. That is the entire product, deliberately.

It has a large company behind it, with a support team, a long uptime history and a design system that has been refined for years. If you want your page to look like a magazine spread, you will get further there than with our fixed layouts.

And it has a free way in. HeyBio gives you a 7-day trial and then asks for money. There is no free tier. If your page is not earning yet, free beats cheap, every time.

One caveat on money. Do not take anyone's word for what Linktree costs, including ours. Pricing varies by region and changes over time, so check their current pricing page before you decide.

Who is better off with HeyBio

HeyBio makes sense when your link page is not a business card but a funnel, and when losing a click costs you a subscriber.

The in-app browser is the specific enemy. A visitor taps your link inside Instagram, lands in that stripped-down internal browser, hits a signup or payment screen with no autofill and no existing session, and gives up. HeyBio pushes the click out to the real browser on the device instead, and counts every click it rescued so you can see the size of the problem you had.

Per-link geo filtering is the second reason. On Pro you can hide one specific button in chosen countries, or show it only in those countries. It fails closed, so if a visitor's country cannot be determined they do not see a geo-restricted link. That matters if there are places you would rather not be found.

The analytics are aimed at the same decision. Visitors, clicks per button, referrer, device, country, hour of day and rescued clicks. Enough to work out which post drove the traffic and which button is dead weight.

Round it out with a custom domain we arrange and connect for you, a neutral share card with no photo so platforms are less likely to classify your link as adult, outgoing link checks, versioning with one-click restore, and full export. Start is 9 euros a month or 90 a year, Pro 29 or 290, Agency 99 for up to 10 models. Cancel monthly, 30 days money back.

Moving from Linktree without losing followers

  1. Leave your Linktree page exactly as it is and build your HeyBio page first at heybio.io/yourname. Nothing goes live until you say so.
  2. Copy your links across in the same order, most important at the top. Open each destination once to confirm it still resolves over https, because dead links are the most common thing people carry over.
  3. Turn on the neutral share card, then send your HeyBio link to yourself in an Instagram DM and a TikTok message and tap it. You should land in your real browser, not the in-app one.
  4. Switch the bio link on your largest platform first and leave the others pointing at Linktree for 48 hours. Compare click counts before you move the rest.
  5. Do not delete the old page. Replace its content with a single button pointing at your HeyBio page, so old posts, screenshots and QR codes still send people somewhere useful.
  6. After two weeks, read the rescued-click number and the per-button clicks, reorder the page around what actually gets tapped, then cancel any old subscription.

Questions

Will I lose followers by switching?

No, because your followers live on Instagram, TikTok or X, not on the link page. What you can lose is traffic from old posts that still point at the old URL. That is why you keep the old page alive with a single forwarding button on it rather than deleting it.

Does HeyBio have a free plan?

No. There is a 7-day free trial and then Start at 9 euros a month or 90 a year. We would rather be straight about that than pretend otherwise. If your page is not earning anything yet, a free tool elsewhere is the sensible choice until it is.

What exactly is a rescued click?

A click that arrived inside the Instagram or TikTok in-app browser and was pushed out to the phone's normal browser instead. That matters because the real browser has your visitor's saved logins and card details. The dashboard counts these separately so you can see how many you were previously losing.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on Pro. You tell us the domain and we arrange and connect it for you, so you are not editing DNS records at midnight. Your page then runs on your own name rather than heybio.io, which also keeps you portable if you ever leave.

Is HeyBio safer for adult creators' links?

It is built with the problem in mind. The share card is neutral with no photo, so platforms are less likely to classify the link as adult. Outgoing links are checked for https, blocked crypto domains, URL shorteners and a brand match. No tool can promise a platform will never act, and we will not claim that.
